What is the Floor Coverings - Castor Abrasion Tester GT-LB34
The floor is often subjected to rolling and friction from castors during daily use, especially in high-traffic environments such as offices, hospitals, and schools. Long-term pushing, pulling, and pressure can cause scratches, discoloration, deformation, and other issues on the floor surface. The Floor Coverings Castor Abrasion Tester GT-LB34 is a professional instrument designed precisely for this purpose. It simulates the wheel pressure and abrasion conditions that floors endure in real-life usage, helping enterprises scientifically evaluate the durability of flooring materials and ensure that their products meet international standards.
What is the Floor Coverings - Castor Abrasion Tester
This instrument is suitable for the durability evaluation of:
-
Semi-rigid PVC block plastic floor
-
PVC coiled material floor
-
Vinyl floor
-
Linen floor
-
Sports floor
-
Electrostatic floor
-
Elastic floor
-
Fabric carpet
-
Laminate floor surface
These materials are widely used in commercial buildings, gymnasiums, schools, offices, and other facilities. The Floor Coverings - Castor Abrasion Tester GT-LB34 can provide consistent and repeatable wear tests for different types of flooring materials, helping manufacturers and testing organizations evaluate the wear resistance of products during long-term use.

Compliance with International Standards
-
The GT-LB34 Floor Coverings Abrasion Tester complies with multiple international and national standards to ensure the authority and comparability of the test results:
-
EN 425: European standard specifying test methods for evaluating the resistance of resilient and laminate floor coverings to the effect of a castor chair.
-
ISO 4918: International standard for wear resistance testing of flooring materials such as PVC, rubber, and laminate flooring.
-
EN 16511: Standard specifically designed for multilayer modular floor coverings, including laminate flooring.
-
GB/T 2611, GB/T 5226.1: Chinese national standards covering general technical requirements and safety specifications for testing machines.
Test Principle
Place resilient and laminated floor coverings on the test board. The tester subjects the specimen to a prescribed number of cycles under the action of castors moving in epicyclical paths. The machine stops automatically after running for the set time and number of cycles. The specimen is then removed for observation and evaluation of results.
How to Operate the Floor Coverings - Castor Abrasion Tester GT-LB34
Operation Steps:
-
Confirm the power supply is AC220V and connect it.
-
Connect the vacuum cleaner power supply to the socket.
-
Press the vacuum cleaner switch power to position “1”.
-
Connect the vacuum cleaner air hose.
-
Open the protective door.
-
Install the acrylic plate on which the specimen has been placed.
-
Align the specimen with the table and place the specimen clamping ring.
-
Compress the specimen using a fixed fixture. (Rotate the table with “Forward/Reversal” for easier fixture placement.)
-
Turn on the power switch.
-
Adjust the vacuum cleaner nozzle position and connect the vacuum cleaner hose to the machine.
-
Turn the handle clockwise and lower the castors until the handle can be turned easily, indicating that all loads have been applied to the specimen.
-
Close the protective door.
-
Enter the test interface and set the test cycles.
-
Go to the “Parameter Setting” interface to set the run time and dwell time for forward, reverse, and vacuum cleaner operations.
-
Click “↷” to return to the test interface, then click “Test” to start.
-
When the number of test cycles reaches the preset value, the machine stops automatically, and the test is completed.
